What is Malaysia Digital?
MSC Malaysia has been renamed as Malaysia Digital (MD). Malaysia Digital is an initiative to promote the sustainable expansion of Malaysia's digital economy and generate significant digital economic spillover through fair access to digital tools, information, and revenue streams,
Eligible businesses that engage in and carry out any of the MD activities are eligible for MD Status by the Malaysian government through the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). Subject to the required approvals, fulfillment with applicable criteria, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations, the Government of Malaysia grants qualifying companies that applies for the MD Status with MD Status, which entitles them to a package of incentives, rights, and advantages known as the MD Bill of Guarantees (BoGs).

Company incorporated under the Companies Act 2016 and resident in Malaysia

Malaysia Digital BILL OF GUARANTEES (BoGs)

Foreign Knowledge Worker Projection, Employment Pass and its related passes.

Tax incentives (income tax exemption or investment tax allowance);

Multimedia/ICT equipment import duty and sales tax exemption;

Competitive and ready infrastructure for business available at MD Cybercities/Cybercentres;

Freedom of ownership by exempting from local ownership requirements;

Flexibility to source capital and funds globally; and/or

MDEC as the one-stop agency for MD Status companies.
